CLUTCHING
10. Inspect the Teflon™ coating on the moveable sheave
bearings.
11. Inspect driven clutch sheave faces for wear or damage.
12. Clean and inspect splines on helix and transmission input
shaft.
13. Lube splines with a light film of grease.
Do not lubricate
the bearings!
Clutch Assembly
1.
Install the inner spring retainer if removed.
Do not apply
oil or grease to the bearings.
2.
Align the “X” marks on each of the sheaves during
reassembly.
3.
Install the spring into the inner retainer.
4.
Install the spacer over the shaft.
5.
Install the outer retainer on top of the spring.
6.
Place the clutch into Clutch Compression Tool

apply and hold downward pressure on the outer spring
retainer. Carefully install the snap ring.
7.
Compress the outer retainer and install the snap ring.
