7 • System Options

Configuring the Tape Button

You can specify the action the system takes when the 

Tape

 button is 

pressed. 
1. Press 

Menu

.

2.  Select "Setup".
3.  If necessary, press the green down arrow key to scroll through 

the menu screens.

4.  Select "Configure Tape Button".

•  If you always want to print one tape at a time, select "Always 

Print One Tape".

•  If you want to enter the number of tapes to print, select "Ask 

For Tape Quantity".

 

Once you make your selection, the system returns to the Setup 

Menu.

Basic Options

Configuring the Serial Port

You can specify how the serial port on the top of the machine (under 

the scale) is being used.
1. Press 

Menu

.

2.  Select "Setup".
3.  If necessary, press the green down arrow key to scroll through 

the menu screens.

4.  Select "Serial Port".

•  If you are using an attached scale, select "Attached Scale".
•  If you are using an older version of Ascent, select "External 

Accounting".

 

Once you make your selection, the system returns to the Setup 

Menu.
