altimeter when the barometric subscale has
been set to 29.92 inches of mercury (1013.2
millibars).
Alti tude measured from standard sea

or barometric altimeter. It is the indicated
pressure altitude corrected for position and
instrument error. In this handbook, altimeter
instrument errors are assumed to be zero.
