Introduction
With your new Philips Ladyshave Double Contour you
can quickly, easily and comfortably remove unwanted hair
from dry skin.
This innovative double-foil Ladyshave guarantees a fast
and more efficient shave. Its twin head makes light work
of even the toughest hairs, without fear of nicks or cuts.
With this Ladyshave, you can easily shave your underarms,
bikini line and legs.
This Ladyshave can be cleaned under the tap after
use for extra hygiene.
This Ladyshave is a cordless appliance equipped with
a rechargeable battery that can be charged in the
charger.
Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Check if the voltage indicated on the adapter
corresponds to the local mains voltage before you
connect the charger.
Only use the Ladyshave in combination with the
adapter and charger supplied.
Do not use the Ladyshave, the charger or
the adapter if it is damaged.
If the adapter or charger is damaged, always have it
replaced with one of the original type in order to
avoid a hazard.
The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut
off the adapter to replace it with another plug, as
this causes a hazardous situation.
The Ladyshave complies with the internationally
approved IEC safety regulations and can be safely
cleaned under the tap (Fig. 1).
Do not clean the Ladyshave with water that is hotter
than shower temperature.
Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
Never immerse the charger in water nor rinse it
under the tap.
Charge, use and store the appliance at a temperature
between 15°C and 35°C.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
This appliance is only intended for shaving and
trimming human hair. Do not use it for any other
purpose.
Do not use the Ladyshave while it is charging.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific
evidence available today.
Charging
It takes approx. 12 hours to fully charge the battery.
Make sure your hands and the appliance are dry when
you prepare the appliance for charging.
Always switch off the appliance before you put it in the
charger.

Put the appliance in the charger (Fig. 2).

Put the small plug in the charger and put the
adapter in the wall socket.
Note: Make sure the socket is live when you charge the
appliance. The electricity supply to sockets in mirror cabinets
over washbasins or shaver sockets in bathrooms may be cut
off when the light is turned off.
The charging light on the adapter goes on to
indicate that the battery is being charged (Fig. 3).
When the battery is fully charged, the appliance has
a cordless shaving time of up to 20 minutes.

Using the appliance
Shaving
If you shave frequently (at least every 3 days), put
the trimmer in the lower position for optimal skin
comfort. In this case, only the double shaving foil
touches the skin (Fig. 4).
If you shave less frequently, make sure that the
trimmer is in the upper position.

Switch on the appliance (Fig. 5).

Place the trimmer and the double shaving foil gently
on the skin. Move the appliance slowly over the
skin against the direction of hair growth while you
press it lightly (Fig. 6).
Make sure that the trimmer and both shaving foils are
always completely in contact with the skin.
Trimming

To trim the bikini zone or the underarms, place
the comb attachment on the shaving head with
the recess of the attachment on the front of the
appliance (Fig. 7).

Switch on the appliance (Fig. 5).

Move the appliance against the direction of hair
growth (Fig. 8).
Make sure the surface of the comb attachment always
stays in contact with the skin.
Cleaning and maintenance
Never use scouring pads, abrasive cleaning agents or
aggressive liquids such as petrol or acetone to clean the
appliance.
Always remove the Ladyshave from the charger before
you clean it under the tap. Make sure the Ladyshave is
dry before you put it back into the charger.
Never immerse the charger in water or any other
liquid. Only wipe the charger with a dry cloth.
After every use
Clean the Ladyshave every time you have used it.

Switch off the Ladyshave.

Press the release buttons and remove the shaving
head (Fig. 9).
Do not exert any pressure on the double shaving foil to
avoid damage.

Brush the hairs off the cutter unit and the
double shaving foil. Make sure you also brush
away any hairs that have collected under the
trimmer (Fig. 10).

For extra thorough cleaning, you can also rinse the
Ladyshave under the tap (Fig. 11).

After cleaning, always put the comb attachment on
the shaving head to avoid damage to the double
shaving foil.
Twice a year

Lubricate the double shaving foil and the trimmer
with a drop of sewing machine oil twice a
year (Fig. 12).
Environment
Do not throw away the appliance with the normal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in
at an official collection point for recycling. By doing
this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 13).
The built-in rechargeable battery contains substances
that may pollute the environment. Always remove
the battery before you discard and hand in the
appliance at an official collection point. Dispose of
the battery at an official collection point for batteries.
If you have trouble removing the battery, you can
also take the appliance to a Philips service centre.
The staff of this centre will remove the battery for
you and will dispose of it in an environmentally safe
way.
Disposal of the battery

Take the appliance out of the charger.

Let the motor run until the battery is completely
empty.

Remove the front panel with a screwdriver (Fig. 14).

To remove the bottom part of the
appliance, break the rib and pull the bottom part
downwards (Fig. 15).
Do not attempt to replace the battery.
Do not put the appliance in the plugged-in charger
again after you have removed the battery.

Turn the screw (Fig. 16).

Remove the battery with a screwdriver. Move
the battery back and forth a few times to loosen
it (Fig. 17).
