 3

Fill the steaming reservoir with water, wine or another alcoholic

beverage and close the lid.  (Fig. 11)

Note: Never fill the steaming reservoir beyond the maximum level indication, to

prevent it from overboiling.

 4

To grill with steam, set the temperature control to setting 4 or 5 and

close the glass lid to prevent the steam from escaping.  (Fig. 4)

,

The indicator light goes on.

Note: Some steam may escape, even when the lid is closed.

 5

Let the appliance preheat until the indicator light goes out (Fig. 5).

,

The appliance is now ready for use.

 6

Put the ingredients on the hot grilling plate.

 7

Close the glass lid to ensure that the steam can transfer its flavour to

the food and to prevent spattering of fat.  (Fig. 10)

 8

Turn the ingredients on the grilling plate from time to time.

Caution: Never cut the ingredients while they are lying on the grilling

plate and do not use metal utensils to turn the ingredients. This may

damage the non-stick surface.

Note: It is normal that the meat does not become brown or crunchy. You can

grill with the lid open for meat that is browner or crunchier on the outside.

 9

When the ingredients are done to your taste, open the glass

lid, remove the ingredients from the grilling plate and turn the

temperature control back to 0.

Caution: Do not use metal utensils to remove the ingredients from the

grilling plate. This may damage the non-stick surface.

Caution: Do not move or transport the appliance during use or when it

is still hot.

After use

 1

 Unplug the appliance.

 2

Let the appliance cool down before your move or clean it.

 3

To detach the glass lid, open the lid and then lift it out of its

hinges.  (Fig. 12)

 4

Clean the glass lid in hot water with some washing-up liquid or in the

dishwasher.  (Fig. 13)

Note: Be careful with the glass lid, it can break if you drop it.
Note: After grilling with smoke, there may be a dark spot on the lid. You can

easily remove this with hot water with some washing-up liquid.

 5

Remove the smoking cup from the grilling plate.  (Fig. 14)

Caution: Empty the smoking cup onto a (ceramic) plate. Let the smoke

chips cool down before you throw them away. You can also immerse the

smoke chips in cold water and then throw them away.

 6

Clean the smoking cup in hot water with some washing-up

liquid.  (Fig. 15)

Caution: Do not clean the smoking cup in the dishwasher.

 7

Push excess grease and food residues on the grilling plate into the

drainage groove with a wooden or silicone spatula (Fig. 16).

 8

Use kitchen paper to remove any remaining grease and food residues

from the grilling plate.

 9

Clean the grilling plate in hot water with some washing-up liquid or in

the dishwasher.  (Fig. 17)

Note: If grease or food residues have caked onto the grilling plate, first soak the

grilling plate in hot water. Do not use any abrasive cleaning agents or scourers

to clean the grilling plate.

 10

Remove grease and food residues from the grease tray.  (Fig. 18)

 11

Clean the grease tray in hot water with some washing-up liquid or in

the dishwasher.  (Fig. 19)

Do not use charcoal or similar combustible fuels with this appliance. Only

use approved smoke chips.

Tip: Place the grill under the extractor hood or in a well-ventilated room, as

smoke escapes along the sides of the lid during grilling.
Note: One package of smoke chips is supplied with this appliance. It contains

enough smoke chips to grill with smoke 5 times. You can buy more smoke chips

or differently flavoured smoke chips at www.barbecook.com/smokechips or in

specialised cooking shops.

  Unwind the mains cord.

 2

Put the plug in an earthed wall socket.

 3

Fill the smoking cup with smoke chips and place it in the opening in

the grilling plate.  (Fig. 6)

 - For a mild smoke flavour, fill the cup to the lower line. You can smoke

your food for 10 to 15 minutes.  (Fig. 7)

 - For a medium smoke flavour, fill the cup to the line in the middle. You

can smoke your food for 20 to 25 minutes.  (Fig. 8)

 - For a strong smoke flavour, fill the cup to the rim. You can smoke your

food for 30 minutes.  (Fig. 9)

light goes out and quite some smoke comes out of the smoking

cup.  (Fig. 5)
