The stereo display in the figure below means that only one language is being
transmitted in stereo. The content of the left-hand window is set by the trans-
mitting station - e.g. «German» or «ger» could be displayed in line 1 of the
left-hand window instead of «Stereo».
Digital output:
In the lower right-hand window you can see the current signal status at the
digital output ( = digital cinch socket).
If «
PCM
» is displayed, then the digital signal is coded in PCM format.
If «
AC-3
» is displayed, then the digital signal is coded in Dolby digital format.
Use the
8
or
9
keys to select, if available, the desired language or audio
track in the left-hand window and confirm your selection with the
OK
key. The
audio track currently selected has a white background.
The number of languages and audio tracks available is preset by the channel
provider.
A PCM-coded language or audio track is always displayed. But two or more
PCM-coded languages or audio tracks with one or more AC-3-coded lan-
guages or audio tracks may also be available.
In the case of the radio channels up to 20 PCM-coded audio tracks may be
available, which you can select using the
8
or
9
keys and confirm with the
OK
key.
«AC-3 - general»:
If you have selected the «Dolby digital/AC-3» operating mode for digital
audio, the digital output is automatically switched from PCM to AC-3 as soon
as corresponding coding is transmitted (see also item (6) Digital audio under
4.4.3 Signal paths).
