Procedure for Going to Bypass 1
Bypass procedure is illustrated in Figure 18.The load is assumed to be powered by Source 1.
1. Open Source 2 input MCCB.
2. Rotate and remove the key from the Source 2 input MCCB; insert it in the Source 1 Bypass
MCCB and turn the key.
3. Verify key 3 is in Bypass 1. (If key 3 is located in Bypass 2, remove it and insert it in Bypass
1.)
Note: Source 1 is assumed the active power source at the start of this procedure.
1. Open Source 2 MCCB.
2A. Rotate and remove

Source 2 MCCB.
2B. Insert
key2
from Source
2 into Bypass 1 MCCB (top
lock) and turn key to lock.
3. Verify
key3
is Bypass 1
MCCB (bottom lock).
If not, rotate and remove key
from Bypass 2 (bottom lock);
insert key into Bypass 1
(bottom lock); and
turn key to lock.
4. Close Bypass 1 MCCB.
6. Open Isolation MCSWs.
(Only one isolation MCSW
may be present. Second
MCSW is optional.)
5. Open Source 1 MCCB.
