MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER) (IPoE)
To create a new MER WAN service:
1.
Click
Add
from the main WAN service page to configure a new connection. (Before you can add a new
PPPoE service, make sure that you have created a proper ATM PVC configuration. See
figure 19
on
page 39). The following page displays. Click
Next
to continue.

On the
Connection Type
page (

), select the radio button for
IP over Ethernet (IPoE).

Next

On the
WAN IP Settings
page (

on page 46), you may may select obtain an IP address automat-
ically or manually enter the IP address provided by your ISP. If you enable IPv6 for this WAN service, you
should also enter the next-hop IPV6 address. Click
Next
to continue.
Note
If selecting
Obtain an IP address automatically
, DHCP will be
enabled for PVC in MER mode.
If selecting
Use the following Static IP address,
enter the WAN IP
address, subnet mask and gateway IP address.
