ACS-1E and ACS-1EUL Install and Service Manual

Follow the directions below to install the MMR Power Booster module onto the ACS-1E Controller
and/or Second Card Reader Board.
1. Turn off the ACS-1E controller and remove the power supply leads.
2. Remove all RS 485 and Buzzer wires connected to the ACS-1E’s Card Reader Interface. Note the
arrangement of the RS 485 and Buzzer wires for subsequent re-attachment to the Power Booster.
3. Insert the Power Booster header pins into the ACS-1E’s Card Reader terminal block interface and
fasten the terminal block’s screw.
4. Insert all RS 485 and Buzzer wires into the Power Booster 6 terminal block interface (while maintain-
ing the previous wire arrangement), and fasten the terminal block’s screw.
Note:
The original RS 485 and Buzzer wire color arrangement are displayed in the photo below.
5. Strip the end of the Power Booster 20 inch red wire and join (twist) it with the positive lead of the
power supply.
6. Insert the joint cables into the corresponding positive cavity of the ACS-1E’s power supply terminal
block and fasten the corresponding terminal block’s screw.
