Setting the Dolby Digital Sound
Output Level
Of the types of audio recorded on a DVD, Dolby Digital
incorporates a dynamic range of sound. This means
that, when compared to a music CD, etc., the average
volume is generally lower. This unit can be set so that
the Dolby Digital average volume is increased
automatically allowing you to hear both Dolby Digital and
music CD sound at the same volume level.

• “ON” or “OFF” lights up on Multi Function Display (about 3 seconds) when
press AUDIO CONTROL.

• “ON” is set ...... When Dolby Digital sound is played back, the average volume is
increased so that you hear the same volume level as with a music CD.
• “OFF” is set ..... The volume level recorded on the disk is played back just as it is.
• When audio equipment is connected, setting the Digital Output level to “OFF” is recommended.
• If the sound becomes abnormal while playing a disk, set the Digital Output level to “OFF.”
