12.3.3 Cordless handset
The base unit beeps.

The recording paper has run out. Press

STOP
}
to stop the beeps
and install recording paper (page 9).

The unit has recorded new voice messages. Press

to stop
the beeps and listen to the recorded messages (page 56, 57).
I cannot page a cordless
handset or base unit.

The called cordless handset is too far from the base unit.

The called unit is in use. Try again later.
Caller information is not
displayed.

You have not subscribed to Caller ID service.
L
The caller requested not to send his/her information.
L
Depending on the service of the local telephone company, caller
information may not be displayed on the cordless handset in
TEL/FAX mode. In this case, change the TEL/FAX ring setting to 1
(feature #78 on page 67).
While viewing caller
information, the display
returns to standby mode.
L
Do not pause for over 1 minute on the cordless handset or 3
minutes on the base unit while searching.

The cordless handset
does not work.

Make sure that the batteries are installed correctly (page 6).

Fully charge the batteries (page 8).

Clean the charge contacts and charge again (page 8).

Turn the cordless handset power OFF, then ON (page 18).

The cordless handset has not been registered to the base unit.
Register the cordless handset (page 77).

Re-install the batteries (page 6) and fully charge them.

phones.

The night mode feature is turned ON. Turn it OFF (page 32).

The ringer volume is turned OFF. Adjust it (page 18).
The batteries should be
charging but the battery
icon does not change.

The AC adaptor is disconnected. Plug in the AC adaptor.
