After installation, check all installation points for leaks.
7 Operation
7.1 Bleeding the system
Before commissioning, the installation has to be filled
and bled with due consideration of the permissible
operating pressures.
!
CAUTION
!
– Do not use any lubricant or oil when installing the
valve as these may destroy the seals. If necessary,
all dirt particles and lubricant or oil residues must
be removed from the pipework by flushing the
latter.
– When choosing the operating fluid, the latest
technical development has to be considered (e.g.
VDI 2035). A strainer must be installed in the
supply pipe to avoid contaminated operating
fluids (see VDI 2035).
– Please protect against external forces (e.g.
impacts, vibrations etc.).
7.2 Presetting
– Unscrew the protection cap.
– Close the valve disc by turning a 4 mm spanner
clockwise.
– Then preset the valve disc by turning the 4 mm
spanner anticlockwise according to the number of
turns selected from the flow chart (chapter 12.2,
A).
– Finally, using a screwdriver, turn the lock nut
clockwise until stop (chapter 12.2, B).
Important:
In case of subsequent modification of the
presetting, the lock nut should first be unscrewed by
turning a screwdriver (chapter 12.2, B) slightly
anticlockwise. Afterwards the presetting can be changed
with the help of the 4 mm spanner.
Note:
The chosen presetting will not be changed by
draining or isolating the chilled ceiling module.
7.3 Isolating
– Unscrew the protection cap.
– Close the valve disc by turning a 4 mm spanner
clockwise.
Attention:
Do not twist the lock nut; otherwise the
chosen presetting will no longer be given when opening
the valve.
7.4 Filling/draining/bleeding by use of the fill and
drain tool, item no. 1061791
– Unscrew the protection cap (chapter 12.1, A).
– Fit the fill and drain tool (chapter 12.1, B).
– Connect the hose (chapter 12.1, C).
– Press the handwheel downwards while turning it
anticlockwise.
Note:
First the stem engages and then the valve opens
for draining or filling (chapter 12.1, D).
– For isolation, press the handwheel downwards
while turning it clockwise (chapter 12.1, E).
– After having completed the operation, unscrew the
hose and the fill and drain tool and refit the protection
cap (chapter 12.1, F).
7.5 Draining/bleeding by use of the service tool
(fill and drain tool), item no. 1090551
– Close the valve in the supply pipe of the chilled
ceiling module (only for draining operation).
– Isolate the valve as described under point 7.3 (only
for draining operation).
– Loosen the valve insert by turning a 10 mm spanner
anticlockwise (max. ¼ thread) (chapter 12.2, C).
Attention:
The lock nut has to be screwed in sufficiently
so that the 10 mm spanner can be inserted up to 4
mm at least.
– Fit the service tool to the valve and connect a hose
(chapter 12.2, D).
Attention:
Tighten the 19 mm compression nut closely
(max. 10 Nm).
– Fit the 10 mm spanner to the service tool and drain
or bleed the chilled ceiling module by turning
anticlockwise (chapter 12.2, D).
The regulating valve can be combined with:
– Oventrop electrothermal actuators as two point or
proportional actuators (0-10 V)
– Oventrop electromotive actuators as proportional
(0-10V) or three point actuator
– Oventrop electromotive actuators “EIB” or “LON”
– Thermostats “Uni LH” and “Uni XH”
Filling and draining of the chilled water module is carried
out by using the service tool (fill and drain tool) item
no. 1090551 or the fill and drain tool item no. 1061791
together with a G

6 Installation
The valve must only be installed into a clean pipework
system and must only be operated with a clean
unpolluted fluid. Installation is possible in any orientation
(horizontal, oblique or vertical, in ascending or
descending sections). The direction of flow has to
conform to the direction of the arrow on the valve body.
Note:
Some electric actuators must not be installed
in a vertical downward position!
Observe warning advice under paragraph 2
(safety notes)!
