6.5 Meter Installation
To prevent troubles such as adverse effects on meter accuracy and gas leaks, the following should be taken
into consideration when installing the meter:
①
Make sure that the flow direction conforms to the arrow mark on the meter.
②
Make sure that the flange gasket inside diameter is greater than the meter inside diameter.
③
Make sure that there is no protuberance such as welding beads inside the pipe.
④
Ensure that the centers of the meter and piping are accurately aligned.
・
For the wafer type meter, use adjust rings to align as illustrated in Fig. 6.7 and 6.8.
・
For the flange type meter, align the connection flange based on the outside diameter.
⑤
Exercise care not to give impact shocks to the meter interior and the sensor.
Be sure to use eyebolts if it is desired to hoist the meter (for large meters).
⑥
Appropriate supports should be provided in order to prevent meter vibration.
⑦
For safety sake, confirm that flange gaskets are in place and that fitting bolts are secure.
(Leak check is recommended.)
NOTE
:
For wafer type:
For the wafer type, place the meter body between connecting flanges.
To accurately center the meter with the pipelines, use the furnished adjust rings (2 pcs.), bolts, and
nuts.
The adjust rings should be fitted on both sides of the body as shown below.
Spigot-type flanges do not require adjust rings.
