2. Guidelines for Safe Use
To ensure safe use, practice using the procedures outlined below.
First, practice in a safe and level area. Be sure to be accompanied by an attendant, and confirm safety.

Start/stop
· Move the push rings slowly and
gently.
· Be careful to avoid abrupt motion
when starting.
• Turns/S-shaped curves
· Make turns on the spot.
· Make different sizes of figure 8.
• Braking
· Power assist also operates
during braking.
· Try braking at various speeds.
• Lifting the casters
· Lift the casters after turning the
power off.
· When the power is on, hold the
tires.
• Riding up and down curbs
· Learn how to safely maneuver
up and down curbs.
· One way to ride over low curbs is
to travel backwards.
• Hills
· Be careful not to overturn when
going uphill.
· Go downhill at a speed that
allows easy stopping.
