Connecting flexion cable
Thread the cable end through three holes on the prosthesis forearm (fig.
5, item A) and fix the cable with 10Y3 Clamp with screw. The elastic strap
should be slightly taut when the arm hangs straight down.
Completion
1) Rivet the straps of the body harness and sew them up. Make sure that
the rivet protrudes through the perlon cable loop and that the perlon
cable is not damaged by the seam. Make sure that the run of various
straps is smooth. Straps may form wrinkles if they are riveted improperly.
2) Rivet the leather pads and eylet cable retainers to the proper position
on the prosthetic socket.
Alternative method: Provide leather pads with the 21Y203 Spacer and
screw them with 29C5=M4x9 Setting Nut and 503F3 Truss Head Screw.
Unlike rivet connection this connection can be loosened if need be.
3.1.2 Below-Elbow Harness 21A20
This eight shaped body harness is designed for prosthetic socket with
upper arm cuff. You can pull the 21A29=* Axillary Protector over the strap
of the body harness.
Pre-assembly
1) Attach the leather strap of the body harness to the front side of the
upper arm cuff.
2) Guide the harness strap starting at the level of the delto-pectorial groove
over the shoulder and diagonally downwards over the back to the axilla
fold on the sound side. The strap encloses the shoulder on the sound
side (fig. 7).
3) If you use axillar protector, make sure that it is properly seated.
4) Guide the harness strap from the upper side of the sound shoulder dia-
gonally over the back up to the axillary line at the level of the upper-arm
cuff. Sew up the strap crossing at the center of the back (fig. 7).
5) Attach the eyelet cable retainer to the back of the upper arm cuff. Guide
the bowden cable from the rear upper arm cuff laterally outside to the
inner socket and attach it there.
