INSPECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND CLEANING

1.

WARNING!  Make sure the Power Switch (6) of the Lantern is in its “OFF”
position and that the Charger is unplugged from its electrical outlet before perform-
ing any inspection, maintenance, or cleaning procedures.  This unit should only be
repaired by a qualified technician.

2.

BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the general condition of the Lantern.  Check for loose
screws, a bent, cracked, or broken Hanging Ring (10),  misalignment or binding of
moving parts, cracked or broken parts, damaged electrical wiring, and any other
condition that may affect its safe operation.  If abnormal noise or vibration occurs,
have the problem corrected before further use.
Do not use damaged equipment.

3.

Wipe the unit down with a dry, lint free cloth as needed.

Changing the Bulb
Note:
Only change the Bulb (1) when the Lantern is cool and unplugged.

1.

Remove the four Screws (3) from the Lantern (two on each side).  Lift off the
cover and set it carefully aside.  The base of the unit will look like FIGURE 2
below.

2.

Wearing gloves, gently lift the Bulb (1) out of the Bulb Holder (11).

3.

Replace with a H3 x 8 Watts Halogen Lamp.  Handle the new bulb only with an
oil-free cloth.  If any oil gets on the bulb, clean it with a clean cloth and rubbing
alcohol.  Let the bulb dry completely before installing.  Any oil on the bulb will
shorten the life of the bulb.

4.

Gently match the pins on the Bulb (1) with the holes on the Bulb Holder (11), and
insert the Bulb back into the Bulb Holder (11).  See FIGURE 3.

5.

Reassemble the Lantern.
