Precautions for Safe Use
Be sure to observe these precautions to ensure safe use of the product.
(1) Do not install in locations subject to saltwater spray, such as on oceangoing vessels or near a seacoast.
(2) Do not install near equipment, such as a radio or TV, that is likely to be affected by electric waves, or near an antenna.
(3) Turn OFF the AC breaker before doing any wiring work.
(4) When installing outdoors, be sure to provide an awning or eave of some kind to prevent direct sunlight or rain from striking the Unit.
(5) Leave space of 20 cm minimum between the Unit and the ceiling or eave, 20 cm minimum between the Unit and the floor or ground,
and 20 cm minimum between the Unit and right or left wall.
(6) When installing multiple KP100G Inverters, leave a space of 20cm minimum to the side of each Inverter. Do not install multiple
Inverters vertically.
(7) Mount the Inverter in the specified direction.
(8)Functional impairment may possibly occur due to the destruction or damage of internal components caused by dropped the Data
Logger. Be extremely careful when handling the Data Logger by installing it.
(9) Use appropriate wire for the capacity of the solar modules. A standard wire with a cross-sectional area of 4 mm
2
or 12AWG is
allowed for the AC wires.
(10) Be sure to inspect the system before doing a trial operation.
(11) Use an AC breaker that matches either the B trip characteristics.
(12) Use appropriate breaker for the capacity of the solar modules.
(13) Use a 20 A trip breaker for the AC breaker.
(14) When connecting to an AC connector cover or MC connectors, make sure that there is no slackness.
(15) Do not connect solar cells that have an open-circuit voltage in excess of 800 VDC.
(16) Tighten the screws of the AC output terminal of L1,L2,L3,N to the specified torque (0.8 to 1.0 N
•
m).
Tighten the screws of the AC output terminal of G to the specified torque (2.0 to 2.5 N
•
m).
(17) Use the recommended contact, or an equivalent one, for wiring to the AC connection.
(18) When wiring to the AC connection, do not put two or more wires into one wire insertion opening.
(19) Omron KP100G PV Inverter shall be installed and used properly in a way to keep away from the following incidents
a) altered or repaired, maintained or overhauled except by OMRON or any person expressly authorized by OMRON, without prior
written consent of OMRON
b) use of parts or accessory other than OMRON specify
c) defect caused by circumstantial factors such as wiring or peripheral equipment to be connected
d) pro-longed mechanical stress; eg. Tiny but continuous vibration for a long period
(20) Omron KP100G PV inverter shall be installed and used properly in a way to prevent the following possible incidents;
a) Lightening surge; easier to penetrate into a PV inverter by conducting on lines between PV modules and PV inverters comparing to
other apparatus installed in the house like a washing machine and may result in a breakage of PV inverter
b) Surge noise (spike) caused by a nearby construction work; flow into a PV inverter and may result in a breakage
c) Grid instability caused by a nearby construction work; make voltage variation larger and cause a malfunction, it may result in a
claim to replace the product
d) Nearby plant (under a poor grid connection); make voltage and/ or frequency vary too largely to activate an error (message), as it
happens repeatedly the customer starts suspecting the quality or defect of the product and it may result in a claim to replace the
product
e) Home apparatus without grounding (eg. washing machine); make a noise to a PV inverter from time to time and it may result in a
breakage
f) Installation circumstances that cause internal relays of PV inverter to repeat switching on and off; it may result in a welded contact
before its life time. It should be a set up that is good at making a balance of startup and stop of PV modules.
g) Characteristics matching with PV modules (as a PV system); amorphous PV modules cause leakage current detector to be
erroneously activated when it is set up, in rain, or as time goes by, and shut down a PV inverter, and it may result in a claim to
replace the product.
