Overall performance
This section describes the performance of the C200HW-CORT21 in
combination with the PLC.
1-3-3-1 Transmission of user defined CAN messages
The following figure shows the sequence of transmitting a user defined CAN
message.
t
IOWR
: The transmission time of a user defined CAN message
t
RF
: The I/O Refresh time
t
PE
: The Program Execution time
Refer to the PLC Operation manual for the execution time of an IOWR PLC
instruction. After the IOWR message is transferred to the C200HW-CORT21,
the Unit immediately transfers the message to the CAN transmission
interface. The actual transmission of the message depends on the bus load.
The priority (identifier value) of the message determines the transmission
delay time when the bus load is higher than 50%. Refer to section 1-3-2 for
the message delay time on the bus. The time it takes before an output is set
or a value in the Output Node is changed depends on the characteristics of
the Output node.
The minimum time between the execution of the IOWR instruction and the
message being transmitted on the bus is about 0.5 ms.
1-3-3-2 Reception of user defined CAN messages
The following figure shows the sequence of receiving a user defined CAN
message.
