Before Using the Handset
Set Date&Time
Setting Date and Time
You can set the FOMA terminal to update the time automatically.
Also, you can set the local time zone, daylight saving, and date&time.

Perform the following operations
• If "Auto time adjust" is set to "ON", you cannot set "Local
time zone", "Daylight saving", and "Set date&time".
[Auto time adjust]
Set whether to adjust the time on the FOMA terminal based on the
time information from the network.
[Local time zone]
Set the time zone for the date and time.
If you press
C
[List] to select a country or city from the list, press
M
[<Prev.] or
I
[Next>] to switch the list by page.
[Daylight saving]
Set the daylight saving time.
[Set date&time]
Set the date and time manually.
To set the date, use
J
to move the cursor to the position and enter
the date with the dial keys (pressing
C
[Select] in the date entry field
displays the calendar screen on which you can set the date. Calendar
screen operation→P324).
To set the time, use
J
to move the cursor to the position to change,
enter the date with the dial keys (pressing

in the time field displays
the Time setting screen on which you can enter time using the dial

• Depending on the settings in "Date&Time format" (P107), the
display format or order of the date and time may differ.
• You can set the date between 1980/01/01 and 2099/12/31.

Time or time differences can be adjusted when the power is
turned on.
•
If time is not adjusted for a while after the power is turned on,
turn the power on again.
•
Time may not be adjusted depending on the signal strength.
• When using the FOMA terminal overseas, the time or time zone
may not be adjusted depending on the network service to use.
Also, the time may not be properly displayed. Set the time of the
location where you stay with the World time.→P335
• Time is not adjusted when an i-αppli is running or the UIM is not
inserted.
• An error of a few seconds may occur.
