Before Using the Handset
Canceling Keypad Lock
If you want to operate the FOMA terminal with the locked terminal
closed, perform the following operation to cancel the lock.

How to Use Touchpad
M
and
I
are the touchpad keys that can be operated by
touching lightly with your fingertip. The FOMA terminal vibrates
when you use the touchpad. Touchpad key operations are
available only while the touchpad is illuminated.
•
When the touchpad is not illuminated, touchpad operations
become unavailable. Illuminate the touchpad with the following
steps before performing the touchpad operations.
- Press any key other than the touchpad keys
- Open/close the FOMA terminal
Soft Keys
Available operations on the currently opened screen are displayed as
Soft keys at the bottom of the screen. To execute the Soft key
operation, press the following corresponding Soft key.

The Soft key description differs depending on the function or
display status.

This manual describes the Soft key operations as follows.

If calls or mails arrive during Keypad lock, the display is turned on
and some key operations become available temporarily.
•
To cancel the Keypad lock while using the Touch media, touch
on the screen.

Do not attach stickers on the operation area to avoid malfunction.
•
Do not press the touchpad with a hard object like a pen tip.
•
Perform the touchpad operations with your fingertip softly.
Operations may not be performed correctly with a hard object such
as metal, gloves, or wet hands. (Strong impacts may cause
damage to the touchpad.)
