RINGER EQUIVALENCE NUMBER (REN) -

This is a number located underneath 

the base of your phone(s) or phone-related device. The REN is used to determine 
how many phones can be connected to the same telephone line while still having all 
those devices ring when you receive a call. In most areas, but not all areas, the REN 
total of all devices should not exceed five (5). Call your local phone company to
