This appendix describes the Business Policy Switch 2000 port connectors and pin
assignments.
RJ-45 (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) port connectors
The RJ-45 port connectors (

) are wired as MDI-X ports to connect
end stations without using crossover cables. (See
“MDI and MDI-X devices
” on
page 382
for information about MDI-X ports.) For 10BASE-T connections, use
Category 3 (or higher) UTP cable. For 100BASE-TX connections, use only
Category 5 UTP cable.
