Preparation 3 Insert a Memory Card

Be sure that the power-on lamp and the
monitor are off and open the battery-
chamber/memory card slot cover.
• Be sure to close the slide cover to turn off the
camera before opening the cover.

Insert the memory card.
• Slide the memory card in the
correct orientation
until it clicks
into place.

Formatting a Memory Card
• The first time you insert a memory card that has been used in another device into this camera, be
sure to format it with this camera.
• All data stored on a memory card is permanently deleted when the card is formatted. Be
sure to transfer important pictures to a computer and save them before formatting.
• To format a memory card, insert the memory card into the camera and select Format card
(

89) from the setup menu (
