4 - OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Starting a cold engine in cold weather
Your tractor has a diesel engine. Before starting a cold
engine, the precombustion chambers of the engine must
be heated with electrical glow plug heating elements. .

Explosion hazard!
DO NOT use ether starting fluid. Serious en-
gine damage, explosion, death, or serious per-
sonal injury could occur.
Failure to comply could result in death or seri-
ous injury.

fully clockwise to the “START”

position to operate the starting motor. Do not op-
erate the starter motor for more than 10 seconds.
NOTICE:
When starting the machine after long periods,
avoid immediate use of hydraulics. It is necessary to al-
low time for enough lubrication of all moving parts before
subjecting them to work loads, particularly if outdoor tem-
peratures approach 0°C (32°F ). Run the engine at
1300
- 1500 RPM
for about
15 min
to bring the rear drive oil up
to normal operating temperature.
NOTE:
A coolant immersion heater is available as a
dealer installed option.
This heater allows for easier
starting in temperatures below
-17.7 °C
(
0 °F
) by warming
the engine coolant.
