Troubleshooting - Foreword
The following troubleshooting information will help you in the unlikely event a problem occurs with your equipment.
Reading the troubleshooting chart is easy. The left-hand column will be the problem you may be having with your
equipment. The center column explains the possible cause or causes of the problem. The right-hand columns gives
you corrective actions you can take to solve the problem. If you feel unsure how to handle the problem with your
equipment do not hesitate to contact your NEW HOLLAND dealer for assistance.
Hydraulic systems - Troubleshooting
Problem
Possible Cause
Correction
The machine cannot be
operated at the start
Low hydraulic oil level.
Check and top up with hydraulic oil.
No oil supply.
Connect the tractor to the power outlet.
Low system pressure from pump.
Check the power outlet. Connect the pump
to the power outlet.
Hydraulic hoses incorrectly connected.
Important! Check that the hoses are cor-
rectly installed to the valve.
Excessive back pressure.
Restriction between the “in” and “out” port
and the reservoir.
Pressure relief valve working irregularly or
set too low.
Contact your dealer.
The hydraulic hoses to/from control valve
are “blocked”.
Check hoses and couplings for leakage,
abrasion and twist.
The machine loses power
after functioning normally
Low hydraulic level.
Check and top ip with hydraulic oil.
Loose hydraulic hoses, leaking moving
parts or hoses.
Tighten hoses, replace damaged O-rings if
leaking. Replace damaged hoses.
Piston in lifting cylinders leaks.
Contact your dealer.
Excessive back pressure.
Restriction between the “in” and “out” port
and the reservoir.
Pressure relief valve working irregularly or
set too low.
Contact your dealer.
Lifting and implementing
cylinders malfunctioning,
other cylinders
functioning.
Spool does not have full stroke.
The spool motion should be 5/16” or in one
direction or 5/8” total.
Loader control valve or tractor’s main relief
valve is stuck in the open position.
Contact your dealer.
Check that the check ball in the anti-cavita-
tion valve is seated properly.
Clean the anti-cavitation valve properly. Be
sure that it moves freely and is correctly
placed or replace it.
Non-functioning lifting
and implement cylinders
Loose hydraulic hoses, leaking moving
parts or hoses.
Tighten hoses, replace damaged O-rings if
leaking. Replace damaged hoses.
Limitations to movable parts or hoses.
Replace damaged hoses and movable
parts. Check stripped hoses.
Piston in lifting cylinders leaks.
Contact your dealer.
Piston unit damaged (does not seal).
Contact your dealer.
Lifting cylinder piston rods bent
Contact your dealer.
Worn out or damaged piston seal. External
leakage.
Contact your dealer.
Spool does not have full stroke.
The spool motion should be 5/16” in one
direction or 5/8” total.
Pressure relief valve working irregularly or
