The antenna or antenna cable (max. 3 meters) has to be mounted to the
MOB
connector and should
be fixed with a wrench. A1 is the main, A2 the auxiliary port.
Attention:
Following points must be observed when installing the antennas:
– A minimum clearance of at least 40 cm between people and the antennas must always
be ensured.
– If one mobile inerface transmit simultaneously with other collocated radio transmitters
the separation distance of 20 cm between the antennas must be maintained at all
times.
– Antennas which are installed outside a building or the vehicle hull must limit transient
overvoltages (according to IEC 62368-1) to below a peak of 1500 V through external
protection circuits.
– Mobile communications antennas may have an amplification of maximum 2.5dBi, in-
cluding the cable attenuation, in the relevant frequency range.
4.4. Installation of the WLAN Antennas
Any WLAN antennas must be mounted to the connectors of
WLAN
. The number of attached anten-
nas can be configured in the software. If only one antenna is used, it must be attached to port A3.
However, for better diversity and thus better throughput and coverage, we highly recommend using
two antennas. Only use antennas with cables shorter than 3 meters.

– WLAN antennas must only be installed in buildings or within vehicle hulls.
– WLAN antennas may have an amplification of maximum 3dBi in the relevant frequency
range. WLAN antennas with a higher amplification may be used with the NetModule
router "Enhanced-RF-Configuration" software license and the antenna gain and cable
attenuation that have been correctly configured by certified specialized personnel.
4.5. Installation of the Bluetooth Antenna
The Bluetooth antenna must be mounted to the connector
BT
, A3. Only use antennas with cables
shorter than 3 meters.
