Chapter 8: Maintaining Your Printer

Caution!

  Before cleaning the printer, be

sure to turn it OFF and unplug the power
cord. If the printer has been running, wait
a few minutes for the Fuser unit to cool
down.

Cleaning the Inside of the Printer

To clean the Image transfer and Paper transport
rollers follow the directions given below.

1. Open the printer by pressing the Top cover

release button and lifting the cover.

2. Remove the Toner and Photoconductor

modules.

Note: 

 Immediately wrap the Photo-

conductor module with a soft cloth to
protect it against overexposure to light.

3. Using a soft cloth, wipe the Image transfer

roller while rotating its drive gear. The black
Image transfer roller is located directly
beneath and behind the Photoconductor
module area.

4. Gently lift open the cover that protects the

Paper transport roller located at the bottom of
the printer chamber.
