N8403-012 1000BASE-T Adapter(2ch)
Verify if the adapter LEDs are on or off.
N8403-012 adapter has LEDs around LAN port. You can see there if the link is established,
or how busy the traffic is.
LED statuses and their meanings are listed below.
LED Status Meaning
Lit
Properly accessing the link partner. (Link
established )
Blinking or lit
Indicates that data is being sent/received.
Blinking interval varies depending on the
traffic intensity.

Not properly accessing the link partner.

Lit green Working in 1000 Mbps
Lit orange Working in 100 Mbps

6.2 Test the adapter
By installing this adapter’s driver and Intel
®
PROSet, you can run the adapter self diagnostic
test.

To run on Windows 2000

On servers where Windows 2000

is installed, double-click Intel
®
PROSet icon on [Control Panel] to run Intel
®
PROSet. How to start the diagnosis and other
information are available from [Help] menu on Intel
®
PROSet window.
Unless the adapter and link partner are connected with a twisted pair
cable, network diagnostics always results in “
failed ”. Verify the adapter
and link partner are connected with a twisted pair cable before running
the diagnostics test
