REMOTE MONITORING CHECKS
:
Verify a remote ground control signal is generated
when the transmitter shuts down, exceeds the SWR
threshold and switches from an AC power source to a
DC power source (battery), as follows:

: The remote
shutdown alarm was checked in paragraph 5.3.8.

: The remote SWR
alarm was checked in paragraph 5.3.9.

Remote Battery Status

battery status is checked in paragraph 5.3.13.
5.3.13
EXTERNAL DC SOURCE
OPERATION CHECK
: Verify the transmitter will
automatically switch over and function normally
from a DC power source (battery), when the AC
power source fails, as follows:
(a)
Ensure battery leads are connected to terminals
A11TB2-1 (+) and A11TB2-2 (
−
) on the
remote interface PWB (A11) on the rear of the
transmitter.
(b)
Set switches as tabulated for
Operating Setting
in table 4-1.
(c)
Verify transmitter is operating normally and all
alarm lamps are turned off.
(d)
Switch off AC power supply at the service
entrance.
(e)
AC POWER
lamp DS10 shall turn off.
(f)
BATTERY-ALARM
lamp DS9 shall turn on.
