3.8.5.2
Keyed Tone Frequency:
If the keyed tone
frequency is to be 1020Hz, as determined in
paragraph 3.6.2, install shorting jumpers E1 and E2
in the
1020
position (shorting pins 1 and 2). If keyed
tone frequency is to be 400Hz, install shorting
jumpers E1 and E2 in the
400
position (shorting pins
2 and 3).
3.8.5.3
Keyed Tone Source
: If the keyed tone
signal is to be supplied by the internal tone oscillator,
install shorting jumper E3 in the
INT
position
(shorting pins 1 and 2). If the keyed tone signal is to
be supplied externally, install shorting jumper E3 in
the
EXT
position (shorting pins 2 and 3).
3.8.5.3
Keyer Fault Inhibit
: If it is desired that a
keyer fault inhibit the keyed tone, install shorting
jumper E4 in the
ENBL
position (shorting pins 1 and
2). If it is desired to continue producing the keyed
tone output when a keyer fault occurs, install shorting
jumper E4 in the
DSBL
position (shorting pins 2 and
3).
3.8.6
HARMONIC FILTER PRE-
INSTALLATION:
Complete the pre-installation
procedures on harmonic filter assembly A7 as
follows (refer to MD-5 to locate A7 and to figures
MD-12/13A/13B for assembly detail):
(a)
Enter table 3-2 with the assigned carrier
frequency and determine the link configuration
on terminal blocks A7TB1, A7TB2, A7TB3
and A7TB4.
NOTE
Refer to the electrical schematic depicted in figure
SD-8A or SD-8B as an aid to understanding the
function of the links in harmonic filter A7.
(b)
Connect A7TB1-4 to terminals of terminal
block A7TB1 identified in step (a) using
appropriate metal links or jumper wires.
(c)
Connect A7TB2-6 to terminals of terminal
block A7TB2 identified in step (a) using
appropriate metal links or jumper wires.
(d)
Connect A7TB3-6 to terminals of terminal
block A7TB3 identified in step (a) using
appropriate metal links or jumper wires.
(e)
Connect A7TB4-1 to terminals of terminal
block A7TB4 identified in step (a) using
appropriate metal links or jumper wires.
3.8.7
LOW AC INHIBIT JUMPER
POSITION:
Set the
LOW AC INHIBIT
jumper for the
appropriate power source as follows (refer to MD-4
to locate power supply A1 and to figure MD-6 to
locate power supply on/off PWB A1A1):
(a)
On low voltage power supply on/off PWB
A1A1, verify the setting of
LOW AC INHIBIT
jumper (E1), noting:
-
When the transmitter’s power source is AC
only, E1 should be installed in the
AC
position
(shorting pins 1 and 2).
-
When the transmitter’s power source is DC
(battery) only or is AC with a DC backup, E1
should be installed in the
AC/DC
position
(shorting pins 2 and 3).
3.8.8
REMOTE POWER TRIM JUMPER
POSITION:
Set the
RMT PWR TRIM
jumper as
follows (refer to MD-5 to locate remote interface
PWB A11 and to figure MD-16 to locate for
assembly detail):
(a)
On remote interface PWB A11, verify the
setting of
RMT PWR TRIM
jumper (E1), noting:
-
When remote control of the power trim
circuitry is desired, E1 should be installed in
the
ENBL
position (shorting pins 2 and 3).
-
When remote control of the power trim
circuitry is not desired, E1 should be installed
in the
DSBL
position (shorting pins 1 and 2).
3.8.9
INSTALLATION OF CABINET
DRAWER SLIDES:
Install the drawer slides
provided with the transmitter (optional), ensuring
they are level and their vertical position in the
transmitter opening coincides with the portion of the
slides attached to the transmitter.
