A.8.42 +CNMI – New SMS Message Indications to DTE
Set Command: +CNMI=[<mode>[,<mt>[,<bm>[,<ds>[, <bfr>]]]]]
Set command selects the procedure, how receiving of new messages from the network is
indicated to the DTE when DTE is active, e.g. DTR signal is ON.
Valid values for <mode> are:
0
Buffer unsolicited result codes in the A3LA-RM. If result code buffer is full, older
indications are discarded and replaced with the new received indications. (default)

Discard indication and reject new received message unsolicited result codes when
A3LA-RM-DTE link is reserved (e.g. in in-call data mode). Otherwise forward them
directly to the DTE.

Buffer unsolicited result codes in the A3LA-RM when A3LA-RM-DTE link is reserved
(e.g. in in-call data mode) and flush them to the DTE after reservation. Otherwise
forward them directly to the DTE.
Valid values for <mt> are:
0
No SMS-DELIVER indications are routed to the DTE. (default)

If SMS-DELIVER is stored in the A3LA-RM, indication of the memory location is
routed to the DTE using unsolicited result code:
+CMTI: <mem>,<index>

SMS-DELIVERs (except class 2 messages and messages in the message waiting
indication group (store message)) are routed directly to the TE using unsolicited
result code:
+CMT: [<alpha>],<length><CR><LF><pdu> (PDU mode)

Class 3 SMS-DELIVERs are routed directly to TE using unsolicited result codes
defined in <mt>=2. Messages of other data coding schemes result in indication as
defined in <mt>=1.
Valid values for <bm> are:
0
No CBM indications are routed to the DTE. (default)
Valid values for <ds> are:
0
No SMS-STATUS-REPORTs are routed to the DTE. (default)

SMS-STATUS-REPORTs are routed to the DTE using unsolicited result code:
