7.8 Lube Oil System, Lube Oil Circuit
7.8.1 Engine oil level – Check
Preconditions
☑ Engine is stopped and starting disabled.
Checking engine oil level prior to
engine start
1.
Remove oil dipstick (1) from guide tube and
wipe it.
2.
Insert oil dipstick (1) into guide tube up to
the stop, withdraw after approx. 10 seconds
and check oil level.
3.
Oil level must be between “min.” and “max.”
marks.
4.
Top up with oil to the “max.” mark as neces‐
sary (→ Page 94).
5.
Insert oil dipstick (1) in guide tube up to the
stop.
Oil level check after the engine is stopped
1.
5 minutes after stopping the engine, remove oil dipstick (1) from the guide tube and wipe it.
2.
Insert oil dipstick (1) into guide tube up to the stop, withdraw after approx. 10 seconds and check oil lev‐
el.
3.
Oil level must be between “min.” and “max.” marks.
4.
Top up with oil to the “max.” mark as necessary (→ Page 94).
5.
Insert oil dipstick (1) in guide tube up to the stop.
