If you install t wo hard disk s on cable, you mu st configure the
second d rive to Slave mode by setting i ts jumper. Refe r to the
hard disk docume ntatio n suppl ied by hard disk v endors for
jumper setting instructions.
Hard Disk Connectors: ID E1/2
The mainboa rd has a 32-bit Enhan ced PCI IDE an d Ultra DMA 33/66/
100 co ntroller t hat provid es PIO mod e 0~4, Bus Master, a nd Ultra DMA 33/
66/100 fun ction. Yo u ca n co nne ct u p to fo ur h ard dis k drive s, CD-ROM,
120MB Floppy (reserved for future BIOS) and other devic es. These connec-
tors support the provid ed IDE hard disk cable.
IDE1
(Primary IDE Connector)
The first ha rd drive should always be c onnec ted t o IDE1. IDE1 can
connect a Master and a Slave driv e. You must c onfigure seco nd hard
drive to Slave mode by setting the jumper accordingly.
IDE2
(Secondary IDE Connector)
IDE2 can also connect a Master and a Slave drive.
