•
Do not leave the machine unattended.
•
Keep the work area tidy. Mess can result in injury.
•
Do not overload the machine. The results of your
work will be better if you observe the specified per-
formance data.
•
Operate the machine only with properly mounted
protective elements and do not make any changes
affecting safety at work.
•
Do not modify the machine and do not change its parts.
•
Do not splash the machine with water (danger of
electric shock).
•
Do not expose the machine to rain and do not work
with it in the rain.
•
Store the machine in a dry place out of reach of children.
•
Always disconnect the machine from the power
supply when:
−
performing repairs
−
performing maintenance and cleaning
−
troubleshooting
−
checking the power supply cable for tangling or damage
− transporting it
−
leaving the machine unattended
(even briefly)
– carrying out adjustments
•
Check the machine for possible damage:
−
Before starting work, always carefully check the
protective elements for proper operation.
−
Check all the moving parts for proper operation, free
motion and damage. Check them also for correct in-
stallation. These parts must comply with the require-
ments for flawless and safe operation of the machine.
−
Damaged safety elements or other parts must be
replaced or repaired by an authorised provider (un-
less specified otherwise in this manual).
−
Damaged or illegible safety labels on the machine
must be replaced
Beware of moving parts!
•
Before starting work, check the hydraulic tubes and
hoses.
•
Beware of hazards resulting from the specific proper-
ties of the split wood (e.g., knots, irregular shape of
the log, etc.)
Electrical Safety
•
The power supply cable must comply with IEC 60245
(H 07RN-F) and the minimum wire cross-section (at 400
V 3~): 5 x 1.5 mm
2
for max. cable length up to 10 m.
•
Never use a cable longer than 10 m. Longer cables can
cause a power failure. The motor will not provide its maxi-
mum output and machine performance will be reduced.
•
Never use damaged power supply cables.
•
When using the machine outside, use only cables
approved and properly marked for this purpose.
•
Never use a makeshift electrical connection.
•
Never bypass or disable the circuit breakers.
•
When using a cable reel, unwind the entire length of
the cable.
•
Connecting plugs and sockets must be made of
rubber, flexible PVC or other thermoplastic material
with the same mechanical strength, or must be co-
ated with this material.
•
The power supply cable plug must be protected from
splashing water.
•
The cable must be routed so that it will not be broken or
crushed, and the plug must not be situated in a wet place.
•
Do not use the cable for purposes other than it is
intended for. Protect the cable against heat, oil and
sharp edges. Do not use the cable to pull out the plug.
•
Periodically check the extension cable and replace it
immediately if damaged.
Electrical connection and repair of electrical com-
ponents must be performed by a certified installer
or our authorised service centre. Ensure that the lo-
cal safety regulations and measures are observed.
Repairs of other machine parts must be perfor-
med by the manufacturer or an authorised servi-
ce centre.
Use only original spare parts. Using other spare
parts can result in injury or damage to property.
In these cases, the manufacturer is relieved of
any responsibility.
Transport Instructions
Before transporting the spli-
tter, always move the spli-
tter wedge to the lowest position.
Grab the handle with one hand
and tip the wood splitter towards
you. In this position, the wood
splitter can be easily transpor-
ted. To prevent oil leakage du-
ring transport, firmly tighten the
oil tank transport filler cap.
Machine Location
Ensure that the work area complies with the following
conditions:
− anti-slip floor
− flat floor
− free of objects which can cause tripping
− sufficient lighting
Do not operate the machine close to sources of natural
gas, petrol vapours or other volatile substances.
Commissioning
•
Make sure the machine is assembled according to
the instructions.
Before start-up, check:
−
The power cable insulation for damage (damaged
cables must not be used).
−
The machine for damage (see Safety at Work).
− All screws are firmly tightened.
− The hydraulic system for oil leakage.
− Oil level.
•
The transport filler cap must be replaced with its
dipstick during operation.
