• Splitter Table Height Adjustment
Upper position of the splitter table for log lengths up to
590 mm
Middle position of the splitter table for log lengths up
to 900 mm
Lower position (the base) for log lengths up to 1325 mm.
1. Split logs up to 590mm on
the table plate. Secure the
table using the locking pin
(this pin must be fully en-
gaged in the table hole).
2. Split logs up to 900mm
on the table. Remove the
upper table plate
3. Split logs up to 1325mm
on the base. Push the
table locking lever down
and turn the table to the
side.
• Splitting Cross Wedge Adjustment
1. Loosen the "star" knob screw.
2. Set the splitting cross wedge in the required position.
(The "star" knob screw must be positioned above the
hole in the splitting wedge.)
3. Tighten the "star" knob screw.
Regularly check the "star" knob screw for proper tight-
ness during work with the wood splitter.
• Splitting Short Logs:
1. Move the splitter table to the upper position.
2. Place the log on the wood splitter table.
3. Hold the log with the clamping jaws.
Split wood logs only in the direction of the wood grain.
•
Splitting Long Logs:
1. Middle position of the splitter table or lower position
of the base.
2. Remove the splitting cross wedge. It must not be
used for long logs!
3. Place the log on the splitter table or base.
Possible problems when splitting long logs: The log
has not been fully split, fi rmly binds the splitting wedge
and is lifted by the wedge when returning to its starting
position. If this happens, perform the following steps:
1.
Switch off the machine.
2.
Set the table plate or the table to the working position.
3.
Switch on the machine and continue log splitting.
Never try to split two logs in one working step.
Never change the log (change its position or ex-
change it for another log) during the working step.
If it is obvious that the log cannot be split, never try
to split it by pushing down the operating handles for
a longer time (> 3 sec). This can result in damage to
the motor. Reposition the log and try to split it again
or remove it from the machine and put it aside.
How to release a log stuck in the machine?
There is a risk of sticking when splitting knotted wood.
1. Switch off the machine and pull the plug out of the socket.
2. Never try to release stuck logs by hand.
3. Carefully release the stuck log, moving it back and forth
using a crowbar, making sure that the splitter cylinder
is not damaged.
Never use a hammer to release a stuck log.
Never use a saw to release a stuck log.
Never ask other persons to help you.
