TOWER GAS-STRUTS
Always ensure the Gas-Struts are in a clean condition.
When using a Strut for the first time, or after a period of storage a small
amount of residue may leak from the seal.
This can cause noise when the Tower column is in operation.
Using a clean cloth simply wipe the strut clean, removing any residue
Make sure that the seal is also clean and clear of residue
SPORTS DRIVE-ENDS STEERING LINKAGE
Over time the bolts holding the steering linkage together can come loose and cause unwanted ‘slop’ in
the steering. It is good to check these regularly. There are 10 bolts in total to check.
The first six can be found on the steering hubs. Ensure the three bolts on each
hub are tight, one is found on the top, another on the bottom and the last is
on the steering arm.
Turn the drive-end upside down and move the steering to one limit, this
exposes a bolt that is part of the link between the two sides. Ensure that this is
tight. Then turn the steering to the other limit and repeat on the other side.
Turn the drive ends the right way up again and tighten the exposed bolt,
move the steering to the other limit and repeat on the other side.
