Host Machine Installation
Host Installation & Setup
- When the IBA5 is connected to the host, the 2-pin connector attaches to the host power supply,
and the 4-pin and 5-pin connectors attach to the host control connections and the 9 pin connector
is not used.
The CAPS interface and bench harness are not required for normal host based operation. These must be
disconnected for installation into the host equipment. This section covers host installation only. For
information on diagnostic setup and bench test installation, refer to Section 4, System Diagnostics.
Installation Overview
The IBA5 is intended to be installed only in IGT gaming equipment built in accordance with the
application data and specifications provided in Section 1, Description and Specifications. The basic IBA5
installation consists of mounting the chassis in the host and securing the acceptor and stacker into the
chassis. Because the IBA5 systems are modular, the modules of any IBA5 systems are interchangeable with
the modules of any other IBA5 systems.
To install Money Controls Imbedded Bill Acceptor System 5 (IBA5) unit into the host equipment:
- Fit the chassis into the host equipment and secure it in place by the mounting nuts captive in the chassis
body. Refer to Chassis Mounting Requirements in Chapter 1.
- Connect the five pin, two pin and four pin (If machine is equipped) connectors on the chassis wiring
harness to the matching connectors of the host equipment.
- If necessary install a new or up-graded EPROM. Ordinarily this is done at the factory before shipment.
- Verify the proper DIP Switch settings and reset as required.
- Install the cassette stacker module into the chassis.
- Install the note acceptor module into the chassis.
- Apply power to the assembled System through the host equipment.
Power Supply and Voltage Requirements
The IBA5 operates from an external regulated 13.5 Nominal DC power supply. Section 1, Description and
Specifications has details on the recommended power requirements.
