5.1.2 S/W-Multiplexer TVMP-1600
(siehe Abb. 3)
1) Von dem beiliegenden 6-m-Anschlusskabel einen
der beiden RJ45-Modularstecker abtrennen und
das Kabelende an einen 25-poligen Sub-D-Ste-
cker löten:
grüne Ader (RXA)
an Pin 16
rote Ader (RXB) an Pin 18
Um den Abschlusswiderstand zuzuschalten, die
Pins 17 und 18 kurzschließen.

Den Sub-D-Stecker in die Sub-D-Buchse „RE-
MOTE“* des Multiplexers stecken und den Mo-
dularstecker des Kabels in die Modularbuchse
„RS485 OUT“ (11b) der Fernbedienung.
2) Den Schalter „TERMINATION SWITCH“ (10) in
die Position „ON“ stellen.
* Anmerkung: Abweichend von den Angaben in Kapitel 10 der
Bedienungsanleitung des Multiplexers TVMP-1600 sind die
Pins 1, 4, 5, 6, 8 – 14 und 19 – 25 der Sub-D-Buchse „REMOTE“
nicht für den Anschluss der Fernbedienung vorgesehen.
5.2 Anschluss mehrerer Fernbedienungen
1) Die erste der Fernbedienungen über ihr beilie-
gendes Kabel mit der RS-485-Schnittstelle am
jeweiligen Multiplexer verbinden. Siehe dazu Ka-
pitel 5.1.1 bzw. 5.1.2, Punkt 1.
2) Über das der 2. Fernbedienung beiliegende Ka-
bel den Eingang „RS485 IN“ (11a) der 1. Fernbe-
dienung mit dem Ausgang „RS485 OUT“ (11b)
der 2. Fernbedienung verbinden (siehe Abb. 5).
Auf diese Weise können bis zu vier Fernbedie-
nungen miteinander verbunden werden.
3) An der letzten Fernbedienung den Schalter
„TERMINATION SWITCH“ (10) in die Position
„ON“ stellen. Bei den übrigen Fernbedienungen
den Schalter auf „OFF“ stellen.
6 Inbetriebnahme
Zuerst den Multiplexer in Betrieb nehmen. Dann zur
Inbetriebnahme der Fernbedienung das beiliegende
Steckernetzgerät mit der Buchse POWER (9) ver-
binden und in eine Netzsteckdose (230 V~/50 Hz)
stecken. Nach einem kurzem Selbsttest ist das Ge-
rät betriebsbereit. Nach der Inbetriebnahme sind
immer die vom Hersteller vorgegebenen Grundein-
stellungen der Fernbedienung aktiviert:
- die Fernbedienung ist auf Steuerung des Geräte-
typs „16-Kanal-Farbmultiplexer“ eingestellt [LED
über der Taste „COLOR 16CH“ (3) leuchtet]
- die Fernbedienung befindet sich im Bedienmo-
dus [LED über der Taste „UNIT“ (4) leuchtet]
- das zu steuernde Gerät mit der Gerätenummer
„1“ ist angewählt [Display (1) zeigt „01“]
6.1 Fernbedienung einstellen (Einstellmodus)
Die Fernbedienung muss auf den jeweiligen Gerä-
tetyp und auf die Übertragungsrate des Multiplexers
eingestellt sein, anderenfalls ist keine Steuerung
des Multiplexers möglich.
6.1.1 Gerätetyp einstellen
Zur Steuerung des S/W-Multiplexers TVMP-1600
muss die Fernbedienung nach jeder Inbetrieb-
nahme auf den Gerätetyp „16-Kanal-S/W-Multiple-
xer“ eingestellt werden.
Für die Steuerung des Farbmultiplexers TVMP-
1600COL ist die Einstellung auf den Gerätetyp nach
der Inbetriebnahme nicht erforderlich, da sich die
Fernbedienung automatisch auf den Gerätetyp „16-
Kanal-Farbmultiplexer“ einstellt (Grundeinstellung
nach der Inbetriebnahme). Die Gerätetyp-Einstel-
lung ist nur dann nötig, wenn während des Betriebs
auf einen anderen Gerätetyp umgestellt wurde.
1) Die Taste „SETUP“ (2) drücken. Die LED über
dieser Taste leuchtet und die LED über der Taste
„UNIT“ (4) erlischt.
Hinweis: Durch erneutes Drücken der Taste
„SETUP“ lässt sich der Einstellvorgang
an dieser Stelle abbrechen.
2) Die Taste „CLEAR“ (5) drücken. Im Display (1) er-
scheint die Anzeige „AS“.
Hinweis: Durch erneutes Drücken der Taste
„CLEAR“ lässt sich der Einstellvorgang
an dieser Stelle abbrechen.
3) Von den Wahltasten (3) für den jeweiligen Gerä-
tetyp die Taste „B & W 16CH“ (bei Steuerung des
S/W-Multiplexers TVMP-1600) bzw. die Taste
„COLOR 16CH“ (bei Steuerung des Farbmulti-
plexers TVMP-1600COL) drücken. Zur Anzeige
leuchtet die LED über der jeweiligen Taste.
Hinweis: Durch Drücken der Taste „CLEAR“ lässt
sich der Einstellvorgang an dieser Stel-
le abbrechen.
4) Zur Bestätigung die Taste „ENTER“ (7) drücken.
Die Fernbedienung stellt sich dann auf den ange-
wählten Gerätetyp ein.
6.1.2 Übertragungsrate einstellen
Der S/W-Multiplexer TVMP-1600 hat die feste Über-
tragungsrate 1200 bps: die Fernbedienung muss auf
diese Übertragungsrate eingestellt werden.
Am Farbmultiplexer TVMP-1600COL lässt sich
die Übertragungsrate 1200 bps, 2400 bps, 4800 bps
oder 9600 bps einstellen (siehe Kap. 4.2): die Fern-
bedienung muss auf die jeweils ausgewählte Über-
tragungsrate des Multiplexers eingestellt werden.
1) Die Taste „SETUP“ drücken.
2) Die Taste „UNIT“ drücken.
3) Die jeweiligen Zifferntasten drücken:
für 1200 bps nacheinander die Tasten „1“ und
„2“ drücken
für 2400 bps nacheinander die Tasten „2“ und
„4“ drücken
für 4800 bps nacheinander die Tasten „4“ und
„8“ drücken

“REMOTE”* of the multiplexer and the modular
plug of the cable to the modular jack “RS485
OUT” (11b) of the remote control.
2) Set the “TERMINATION SWITCH” (10) to posi-
tion “ON”.
* Note: Different from the information in chapter 10 of the operat-
ing instructions of the multiplexer TVMP-1600, the pins 1, 4, 5,
6, 8 – 14, and 19 – 25 of the Sub-D jack “REMOTE” are not pro-
vided for the connection of the remote control.
5.2 Connecting several remote controls
1) Connect the first of the remote controls via its
supplied cable to the RS-485 interface at the re-
spective multiplexer. See the previous chapter
5.1.1 or 5.1.2, item 1.
2) Connect the input “RS485 IN” (11a) of the first re-
mote control via the cable supplied with the sec-
ond remote control to the output “RS485 OUT”
(11b) of the second remote control (see fig. 5).
Thus, up to four remote controls can be con-
nected with each other.
3) At the last remote control set the “TERMINATION
SWITCH” (10) to position “ON”. For the remain-
ing remote controls set the switch to “OFF”.
6 Setting into Operation
Set the multiplexer into operation first. To set the re-
mote control into operation, connect the supplied
plug-in power supply unit to jack POWER (9) and to
a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz). After a short self-
test the unit is ready for operation. Each time the unit
is set into operation, the factory presettings of the re-
mote control are activated:
- the remote control is set to controlling the unit
type “16-channel colour multiplexer” [LED above
the key “COLOR 16CH” (3) lights up]
- the remote control is in the control mode [LED
above the key “UNIT” (4) lights up]
- the unit to be controlled with the unit number “1”
is selected [display (1) shows “01”]
6.1 Setting the remote control (setting mode)
The remote control has to be set to the respective
unit type and to the transmission rate of the multi-
plexer, otherwise no control of the multiplexer is pos-
sible.
6.1.1 Setting the unit type
To control the B/W multiplexer TVMP-1600, the re-
mote control must be set to the unit type “16-channel
B/W multiplexer” each time the unit is set into oper-
ation.
For the control of the colour multiplexer TVMP-
1600COL setting to the unit type is not necessary
each time the unit is set into operation, as the re-
mote control automatically adjusts itself to the unit
type “16-channel colour multiplexer” (factory setting
each time the unit is set into operation). The unit
type setting is only required if another unit type is
selected during operation.
1) Press the key “SETUP” (2). The LED above this
key lights up and the LED above the key “UNIT”
(4) extinguishes.
Note: By pressing the key “SETUP” again, the
setting process can be stopped at this
place.
2) Press the key “CLEAR” (5). The display (1)
shows “AS”.

setting process can be stopped at this

3) For the respective unit type press the key “B & W
16CH” (for control of the B/W multiplexer
TVMP-1600) or the key “COLOR 16CH” (for con-
trol of the colour multiplexer TVMP-1600COL) of
the selection keys (3). The LED above the re-
spective key lights up.
Note: Press the key “CLEAR” to stop the setting
process at this place.
4) To confirm press the key “ENTER” (7). Then the
remote control adjusts itself to the selected unit
type.
6.1.2 Setting the transmission rate
The B/W multiplexer TVMP-1600 has a fixed trans-
mission rate of 1200 bps: the remote control has to
be adjusted to this transmission rate.
At the colour multiplexer TVMP-1600COL the
transmission rate 1200 bps, 2400 bps, 4800 bps, or
9600 bps can be adjusted (see chapter 4.2): the re-
mote control has to be adjusted to the selected
transmission rate of the multiplexer.
1) Press the key “SETUP”.
2) Press the key “UNIT”.
3) Press the respective numerical keys:
for 1200 bps press the keys “1” and “2” suc-
cessively
for 2400 bps press the keys “2” and “4” suc-
cessively
for 4800 bps press the keys “4” and “8” suc-
cessively
for 9600 bps press the keys “9” and “6” suc-
cessively.
4) Press the key “ENTER”.
5) As a check, according to the set transmission
rate, the display shortly shows the indication “C1”
(for 1200 bps), “C2” (for 2400 bps), “C3” (for
4800 bps), or “C4” (for 9600 bps).
During the operation the set transmission rate can
be indicated any time by pressing the key “CLEAR”.
Then the display shortly shows the respective code
(“C1”, “C2”, “C3”, or “C4”) of the transmission rate.
