3. Place the gearshift lever in the “P” position.
When the gearshift position indicator shows “P”,
release the brake pedal.
4. Let the engine idle for about 3 minutes to allow it
cool down.
Engine parts are particularly hot immediately
after the vehicle has been driven uphill or on an
expressway. Let the engine idle for at least 3
minutes.
5. Turn the starter switch to the “ACC” position to
stop the engine.
6. When you leave the vehicle, remove the starter
key and lock the doors.
NOTE:
A buzzer sounds continuously if the driver’s door or
assistant driver’s door is opened while the engine is
running and the gearshift lever is in the “D” position.
The buzzer stops if the gearshift lever is moved to
the “P” or “N” position, the engine is stopped, or the
door is closed.
If the gearshift lever is moved to the “R” position
while the engine is running, the buzzer sounds
intermittently.
Always stop the engine with the gearshift lever in
the “P” position.
