7.13.2 Connecting I/O Device via PROFIBUS-DP
The expansion unit FCU8-EX563 functions as a master station of PROFIBUS-DP. Use the PROFIBUS dedicated
communication cable for connection to PROFIBUS-DP.
Make sure to attach the terminator to the final station unit of the network. There is a slide switch on the PROFIBUS
communication cable for setting the terminator. Turning "ON" the slide switch means attaching the terminator. Make sure
to turn "ON" the slide switch for the last station, and to turn "OFF" for other stations.
To use the expansion unit as a master station of PROFIBUS-DP, set the parameter with the configuration software (a
tool for parameter setting). When setting the parameter, you need to use the cable G295 to connect the PROFIBUS-DP
unit to the configuration software- installed personal computer (PC/AT compatible machine).
(Note)
The communication parameters, etc. at the time of setup are required to be backed up for maintenance.
(Note 1) Use the rotary switch of PROFIBUS-DP unit with the initial value "0".
