5. Operation
Summary
When a preset is pending for a take, the selection buttons turn yellow. After a take where there is
nothing preset, the selection buttons revert to their original color.
If the current destination had a breakaway, the sources will be different across the levels. If the des-
tination does not include a particular level, that button will be dark, but it will show the level name,
as is the case with ‘HD’, and ‘Timecode’ here. (Audio 3 is available but not selected and is there-
fore low-tally.)
Level buttons for which there is no level defined remain blank. Lines in the display for which there
is no level defined also remain blank.
S
The display and the selection buttons scroll independently. Use the fixed up/down buttons to
scroll the display and use ‘Page Up’ and ‘Page Down’ buttons to scroll the levels on the selec-
tion buttons.
Level Mapping
If a level was level-mapped, the display shows a plus sign next to the level name.
on page 52 for usage information.
MD Devices
In multi-destination (MD) mode, a set of selection buttons presents a set of MD devices. To per-
form an MD take, you assign sources to as many MD devices as you like and then press ‘Take’. The
multiple takes occur simultaneously. Call these “dest” buttons for the sake of simplicity.
To assign a source to an MD destination, select the destination using a selection button and locate
and press a source button. You might have to scroll the display to find the MD destination of inter-
est. (In hold mode, you can assign a source to several MD destinations at once.)
In this example, the displays shows that two sources, CAM--4 and CAM--5, were preset to 2 desti-
nations, VTR--2 and VTR--3, respectively:
In MD mode, the selection buttons represent destinations in the MD destination set. Each displays 3
lines of text:
The top line of text shows the current sources. The middle line of text shows the
preset
sources. The
bottom line shows the destinations. If you scroll through the MD destinations, the legends on the
selection buttons change.
