1 XVP-1801 HD/SD Universal Video Processor/Converter
1.1 Introduction
The XVP-1801 is a highly integrated module designed to synchronize, convert and process HD and SD
signals into HD/SD hybrid plants. The XVP-1801 (Densité) offers similar functionality to the very successful
XVP-811i (Imaging). One of the main differences is that it is a single channel card, but audio I/Os have been
integrated on the card.
The XVP-1801 can accept either HD or SD inputs and will provide an HD or SD output regardless of the
input standard. The output path provides format, color space, and aspect ratio conversion necessary to
maintain a constant signal format. The conversion format will automatically adjust to input format changes. A
cross converter feature even allows the XVP-1801 to convert from 720p to 1080i and vice versa.
The XVP-1801 can process up to 16 audio channels (4 groups of embedded audio) or 8 channels (4 discrete
AES) inputs/outputs. The XVP-1801 allows for an external connection to other audio processing cards like
the UAP, AAP and DAP. These boards can be used when analog audio or Dolby E encoding/decoding are a
requirement.
The module provides streaming video and audio level metering, so an operator can remotely and effectively
monitor the signal path using Miranda’s iControl facility monitoring and control system.
