• Do not touch the metal part of the IC chip. It may
break the IC chip by static, or may cause read
error by stain or flaw.
• For the setting orders of the ink bottles, refer to
Replace the ink bottle
Perform as follows when [INK END] or [INK NEAR END]
is displayed on the display.
When [INK END] is displayed

Move the lever on the tank completely from
the left to the right end.

Lift out the ink bottle while keeping it
completely straight.
About IC chip
• The IC chip has information of
ink color, remaining amount of
ink, expiration data, etc.
When setting the ink bottle,
insert the IC chip packed with
the ink bottle into the IC chip
inserting port attached with the
ink cover.
• If you set the IC chip not being
the pair of the ink bottle, image
quality defect etc. may occur.
• The mark indicating color
information is pasted on the IC chip.

• Be sure to use safety glasses.
• Do not ever rotate the ink bottle at all after setting
it into the tank. Doing so can result in ink leakage.
• Check that the light-blocking cover closes when
removing the ink bottle from the tank. Close by
hand if the cap does not close. Leaving the light-
blocking cover open can result in the ink curing.
• Make sure that the ink is not leaking from the
bottle.
