Restoring the Ground Connection after Dismantling the
Front and Side Panels
Danger!
The ground connection can be invalidated by faulty reassembly of laundry-
care appliances.
The ground connection for laundry-care appliances is established via screws:
Raised-head screws with teeth or toothed washers underneath connect the
ground lead to the interference-suppression filter, the front panel, the side
panels and the housing frame. These raised-head screws are different from
the rest of the appliance screws in the following areas: diameter, type of
thread, type and material of the washer.
The ground connection remains only if the
raised-head screws for the
ground connection
are screwed into their correct positions during
reassembly.
When dismantling the front and side panels, mark the positions of the raised-
head screws.
During reassembly, screw the raised-head screws into these same positions.
In order to check the proper screw positions, measure the resistance of the
ground connection circuit.

Voltage Present on Power Electronic (ELP)
Danger!
A capacitor on the power electronic (ELP) maintains voltage of up to
approximately 400 volts, even after the appliance is disconnected from the
power supply.
After the appliance is disconnected from power, an electrical resistor
discharges the capacitor within approximately 2 minutes.
Work on the power electronic (ELP) may only be started after it has been
established that the capacitor has been safely discharged.
