Notes on using the baking
charts
In the charts the data for the
recommended function is printed in
bold.
Unless otherwise stated, the times
given are for an oven which has not
been pre-heated. With a pre-heated
oven, shorten times by up to 10
minutes.
Temperature
As a general rule, select the lower
temperature given in the chart.
Baking at temperatures higher than
those recommended may reduce the
cooking time, but will lead to uneven
browning, and unsatisfactory cooking
results.
Baking duration
Check if the food is cooked at the end
of the shortest time quoted. To check if
a cake is ready, insert a wooden skewer
into the centre. It is ready if the skewer
comes out clean, without dough or
crumbs sticking to it.
Shelf levels
The shelf level on which you place your
food for baking depends on the oven
function and number of trays being
used.
–
Fan Plus
1 tray: Shelf level 2
2 trays: Shelf levels 1+3/2+4
3 trays: Shelf levels 1+3+5
The universal tray should be placed
underneath the baking tray if you are
using a universal tray and a baking
tray on several levels at the same
time.
Bake moist biscuits and cakes on a
maximum of two levels at the same
time.
–
Intensive Bake
1 tray: Shelf level 1 or 2
–
Conventional Heat
1 tray: Shelf level 1 or 2
