This chapter will introduce you to the Operator’s Guide: what it 
covers, how it’s organized, and for whom it’s written.

How to Use This Manual

A CD ROM, delivered with each DVC4000-E Digital Video 
Encoder and the DVC4000-D Digital Video Decoder, contains 
PDF files for the Operator’s Guide, the Technical Reference 
Manual, and the Quick Reference Card.  

The Operator’s Guide, the Technical Reference Manual, and the 
Quick Reference Card are also available for download through

What This Manual Covers

This manual describes how to operate both the DVC4000-E 
Digital Video Encoder and DVC4000-D Digital Video Decoder 
and covers both configurations of the DVC4000.

For information on Installation, Repair, Replacement Parts, and 
Theory of Operation, refer to the DVC4000 Digital Video Encoder 
and Digital Video Decoder Technical Reference Manual.

Note

General references applicable to both the Digital 
Video Encoder and Digital Video Decoder in this 
manual shall reflect the generic title of “
