Clean-up Wand
Maintaining a clean work area can be difficult with a dry system. Microtrac provides a clean-up wand to
assist. Remove the plastic plug in the vacuum tube elbow and replace it with the plastic 90° hose barb.
Leave the hose barb slightly loose so it can swivel. Push the tubing over the barb and attach the tapered
fitting on the other end to the push-button valve. A variety of wands can be installed in the push-button
valve. (The large-diameter attachments in the wand kit are not needed and may be discarded.) When the
vacuum is on, pushing the push-button valve allows local clean up of the area. Do not use the clean-up
wand during a measurement, since airflow has an effect on measurement results. See Figure 2-4.

Eductor Air
Eductor air is controlled by a valve and regulator mounted inside the S3500 analyzer. Connect an air
supply to the Air In port using the 4mm flexible tubing supplied. Simply push the tubing into the fitting
until it stops. To remove the tubing, press the release ring in while pulling the tubing out. See section 1.4
for air supply requirements. It is highly recommended that a moisture/oil trap and filter be used in the
supply line to ensure maximum measurement accuracy and system reliability.
Connect another length of 4mm tubing from the Air Out port to the 90° fitting on the dry sample cell. See
Figure 2-5.
