9.
Loosen the two set screws by applying some Never-Seez grease to the tip of an Alan
wrench, and unscrew until they are very loose. The grease will prevent the screw from
falling into the isolator. This will unhitch the piston (2) from the hydraulic cylinder
extender (20). Refer to Figure 4.3.
Figure 4.3 Removal of the 2 set screws that connecs the piston to the cylinder extender
10.
Gently insert a flat blade screwdriver into the access hole and pry out the piston (2) from
the hydraulic cylinder extender.

Loosen the 2.75" locknut as follows:
a.
Obtain the black spanner wrench (MFIC Inv. 16.2102).
b.
Place the spanner wrench around the 2.75" locknut and insert the spanner wrench
tooth into one of the locknut grooves. As you look at the front of the LV1, the handle
of the spanner wrench should be to the right of the isolator.
c.
Obtain a rubber head mallet and strike the end of the spanner wrench handle so as
to rotate the locknut in a counterclockwise direction, the handle of the spanner
wrench should move from right to left.
d.
Back off the locknut to allow the Liquid end body (3) to rotate.
12.
Rotate the liquid end body in a counterclockwise direction. Once the threads are no longer
engaged, carefully pull the liquid end body away from the isolator. Refer to Figure 4.4.
