LV1 User Manual
3-5
The LV1 is supplied with a motor starter that includes On/Off switching.
The LV1 must be properly grounded according to national and local electrical codes.
The end user
must supply an electrical circuit breaker and disconnect for the LV1.
All fuses and relays are
located within the electrical box of the unit.
Information on Charging Accumulators
WARNING: THE USE OF OXYGEN OR AIR WILL RESULT IN AN EXPLOSION OF THE ACCUMULATOR.
USE OF OXYGEN IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. CHARGE THE ACCUMULATOR WITH DRY NITROGEN
OR AUTHORIZED INERT GASES ONLY.
Nitrogen Charge Pressure
The nitrogen charge pressure for the accumulator should be between 1400 and 1450 psi maximum.
This pressure range should not be exceeded.
CAUTION: NEVER TURN ON THE PUMP WITHOUT FIRST CHARGING THE ACCUMULATOR.
Charging an Accumulator
If this is an initial setup, please refer to the instructions in the
Preparing for Use
section of this
chapter. The part number of the US charging kit is 80.0006. For other countries the appropriate
charging kits must be selected.
1.
Make sure the nitrogen supply is shut off.
2.
Attach the hose to the nitrogen bottle.
3.
Remove the gas valve guard and gas valve cap from the accumulator.
4.
Back the gas chuck “T” handle all the way out (counterclockwise) before attaching the
charging assembly to the accumulator gas valve.
5.
Close the bleed valve.
6.
Making sure not to loop or twist the hose, attach the swivel nut to the gas valve and
tighten (10-15 in. lb.) (11.5-17 cm kg).
7.
Turn the gas chuck “T” handle clockwise until the gauge starts to show pressure in the
accumulator.
CAUTION: DO NOT TURN THE “T” HANDLE ALL THE WAY DOWN, AS IT WILL DAMAGE THE
VALVE CORE.
8.
Slowly crack open the nitrogen bottle valve and slowly fill the accumulator.
Shut it off when the gauge indicates the desired pre-charge (96.5 bar; 1,400 psi).
