5.1.2 Server Mode
Select SERVER mode to display the menu as below:
In server mode, the transfer is initiated from an external client. If the file downloaded
matches that configured for Software or Config then they will be used to upgrade the
software or configuration.
To use TFTP, the IP address of the remote server must be entered.
For security reasons, it is recommended to change the default settings for software and
config file names to prevent unauthorised updates.
To initiate a TFTP transfer from a windows PC, select a DOS window and then type the
command
tftp –i “WCM5100 IP Address” put “Source Filename” “Software File Name”
eg
tftp –i 192.168.0.1 put WCM5100.77 software
Which will load a file named “WCM5100.77” onto the WCM5100 with IP address
192.168.0.1 and load as a file called “software”
